In this infographic I am comparing three major cell phone companies.  The images that I used are from google and I edited everything in Adobe Illustrator.

Hospital Apologizes Death of Child

A 7-year-old girl died Saturday after having surgery at Mercy Hospital due to
receiving the wrong medication.

After a tonsillectomy Tania Abbondanzia was given a half-milligram of
hydromorphone a stronger pain reliever than her prescribed morphine sulphate.

The pediatric nurse that administered the wrong medication mistakenly gave the
hydromorphone to Abbondanzia due to the drugs being beside each other.

Police are treating the death as accidental after discovering the cause of death, and
the nurse has been suspended pending completion of the investigation.

Abbondanzia was given the drug at 2:30 p.m. Friday and soon developed severe
respiratory problems and began to seizure

She was immediately transferred from the medical facility’s pediatrics ward to the
intensive care ward. Abbondanzia remained in a coma until Saturday morning
when doctors pronounced her brain dead. She was then taken off of the respirator
and died minutes later at 9:40 a.m.

Dr. Irwin Greenhouse, hospital administrator, stated in a press release that, “Our
sympathy goes out to the family, and we will stay close to them to provide support.”
The parents of the girl were unavailable for comment.

Fun Statistics

Infographics simply put are visual representations of information.  They are usually presented in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and easy for the viewer to understand.  

I have found a few online that I found interesting that I am going to share:

I have two main web browsers that I use, so seeing how they ranked compared to the most popular available browsers sparked my interest.  This infographic is not bad; it gets the data across in a easy visual.  Although it is not very creative.  The text is standard and it provides the logos of the browsers.  Have more colors could have made it better.

This infograph displays the history of Apple.  There are more images of the corporation and it's products than there are words, but it is still able to get the information across.  This infographic is good because the images are engaging, and it is simple to understand.  A negative about this is that the images seem cluttered and can be a little distracting.

On Monday in class I will be doing a practice infographic that will be comparing different cell phone companies.  I plan on using graphics of people and cell phones to illustrate the information that I am going to be using.

Writing Leads

5. When a women decides to pursue higher education can have a strong impact on their marriage;the divorce and separation rate is higher for women who begin graduate school after they are married.
